The Co-Creator of Call of Duty, Has Died in a California Car Crash
The visionary game developer, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a traffic collision in California aged 55.
Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.
The renowned industry figure lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.
"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with his family and friends, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," an official with Electronic Arts stated.
