Star Rejects Anti-Vaccine Views After Lending His Voice To Controversial Pandemic Feature
The acclaimed actor has lent his narration to a new documentary that casts doubt on the legitimacy of immunizations and praises ex- health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The Feature's Provocative Basis
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the film is inspired by a well-known publication written by a disgraced researcher, who rose to infamy during the pandemic for claims that the illness was linked to a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.
The book's collaborator, Kent Heckenlively, has previously authored books with conspiracy-prone radio host a known commentator. The producer took to social media praising Neeson's participation in the film.
An Unequivocal Rebuttal
Representatives for Neeson have provided a statement firmly refuting claims that he holds anti-immunization views.
"Everyone can recognize that unethical practices might be present within the drug industry, but that should never be equated to rejection of vaccines," the statement reads. "Liam has never been, and remains not, against vaccines. His extensive work with the global charity highlights his consistent support for public-health initiatives."
The statement added that the actor was not involved in crafting the film's editorial content and that inquiries about its claims are best addressed to the creators.
Key Assertions In the Feature
According to the documentary, the voiceover spoken by Neeson includes several strong claims:
- It claims that pro-vaccine voices have insisted on "unconditional submission" to public institutions.
- It declares that "science has become highly influenced by politics."
- Kennedy is shown claiming, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
- It further attacks pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused severe distress that cost thousands of lives.
- Concerning the immunizations, it cites a view that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "risky trials."
Historical Context and Current Disputes
The documentary also references a 2004 BBC documentary about clinical trials on children, which was afterwards the focus of a correction by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.
Last month, RFK Jr instructed the national health agency to revise its long-held position that there is no link between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This supposed link is echoed in the film, despite a fresh analysis from the WHO reiterating no connection has been found.
A Previous Record of Endorsement
Differing from the film's message, Neeson has formerly voiced clear advocacy for vaccines in his position as a charity ambassador.
In 2022, he described vaccines as "an incredible human success story," noting that "The debate about vaccines in lately has lost sight of how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."
The documentary concludes with Neeson's voice stating, "This is not the end of our narrative. It is the dawn of a fresh chapter."
