Soccer Analyst Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match winning run was ended by Sunderland before the global break, but will the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was still that team's manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four matches.

A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

They have got lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
