Renowned Performer The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
American entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles on Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a message.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of popular shows, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat guided, supported, and advised countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.
Pat Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
