I will dominate 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice world boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really proceeding.
