Critical Role Campaign 4 Unveils the Warriors Party

Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative showcasing divine entities, demons, and dark forces increasing in power within the city.

Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of heroes who will separate from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.

This warrior group features Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

Why Split the Party?

Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.

Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.

Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.

The traitor then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires vengeance.
  • Kattigan has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous place.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • But, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could help the team enter locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, Teor pledged a life debt to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and Wicander defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • The target is marked for death by House Halovar.

This leaves them few options but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the antagonist.

Future Episodes

From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we discover that the Soldiers table will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Questers and Planners tables.

Audiences can look forward to learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
